Transparency
We are happy to share how our BEEF is raised. It is our goal to be transparent in what we do so you can know the full story behind the product on your plate. Here’s several questions we hear our customers asking.
Born on the Grassy Hills
Where is our beef raised? Our cattle are born on the grassy hills of Virginia and raised there for the first year of their life before coming to our family farm. Why? There are simply more green pastures in Virginia. Its rolling hills and river bottoms are prime land for mother cows and calves. They then spend six months with us before they are fully grown.
Our Ration
Is our BEEF grass fed? Nope! And we are proud of it. We have been fine-tuning our feeding program since my grandpa began raising cattle in 1955 to ensure Quality, Consistency and Flavor. We work with a nutritionist to dial in energy, protein, and even trace minerals. Then, we feed separate rations to cattle of different age groups for the best nutritional performance. The result? Amazing BEEF.
Our Care
Do we vaccinate our cattle? We only vaccinate our cattle against basic respiratory diseases like pneumonia. We have found that if this vaccine is skipped, the cattle end up sick or worse. In the animal’s best interest we use only the vaccines we need to. We DO NOT use mRNA vaccines on our farm. Does our beef have hormones? Our BEEF has no hormones added.
